Members of Council made a presentation Knowledge Dissemination: The WWW Virtual Library [PDF -3137KB] to the Internet Society at CERN on October 18th, 2006.

The archived pages of the Virtual Library's former Secretary,
the late Bertrand Ibrahim 1954-2001
are now available for browsing.

Bertrand had a rich collection of web- and course-related materials on the server of Geneva University, where he was associate professor. A selection of these have been preserved by the VL: both as a memorial to Bertrand and his work, and as a snapshot of the early history of the Web.

The Virtual Library's search engine
VLsearch
has search interfaces in Arabic, English, French and Spanish
and currently allows searching of over seventy thousand individual VL pages, which in turn provide a six figure number of links to external resources.
